Clexane injection is a type of anticoagulant (blood thinner) medication used to prevent blood clots from forming in the heart, lungs, or other parts of the body. It is sometimes prescribed for people who have recently had a heart attack or stroke, as well as those who have had surgery. It is also used to prevent clots from forming in people who are at risk due to certain medical conditions. Clexane is given as an injection under the skin (subcutaneous injection). The injection should be given into the fatty layer of the skin, usually on the stomach, side of the waist, or upper thigh.
